Book Awards 2009

The 2009 Book List is complete as of last week, and I finally read over 52 books in one year!  I don’t know why I was so slow in years past.  And once again, I didn’t read a lot of new books in 2009…but these are some of the best books I happened to read in 2009:

Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri, Then We Came to the End by Joshua Ferris, The Story of Forgetting by Stefan Merrill Block and City of Thieves by David Benioff.  My favorite book of the year was probably The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay by Michael Chabon.

I also am really enjoying Millennium Trilogy by Stieg Larsson.

Least favorite of the year?  Either Say You’re One of Them by Uwem Akpan or Our Lady of the Forest by David Guterson.  Blech.
