Camera Rouge

Yay! My new camera came in the mail today and I loooove it!  It is a really early birthday present, just in time before my trip.  This gives me about a month to get used to it before we leave.  Three years ago, I got a new camera for my birthday.  And yes, I took pictures of that one when I got it too.

Also sort in a lead up to our trip, Tim and I caught the movie In Bruges this past weekend.  I think it is out on DVD now and we both highly recommend.

Tuesdays

On the first Tuesday of the month, I usually have quilt guild.  Then on the second and third Tuesdays I have teen programs at the library (book discussion and anime club).  So its easy enough to say that my Tuesday nights are pretty wrapped up.  My city decided to add a mid-week early evening Farmer’s Market at the Westside Bloomingfoods that I walk by every single day (or ride, as of late) on my way home from work.  Guess what night they picked?  Yep.  Tuesday.  So I can almost never go!  Tonight, however I was free!  It was pretty quiet and although my favorite tomato guys weren’t there, I scored some beans and fresh eggs.

Despite having a chipped bone in his wrist (fricking noon ball), Tim has been working on creating a drainage system for our basement.  Tonight that involved creating a cement hump in our so-called driveway.  Guess who can’t mix a wheelbarrow full of concrete with a broken hand?  Guess who got to do it instead?  Why the big rush?  Because it is supposed to RAIN.  AGAIN.

Robo Quilt

Just so you know it isn’t all fabric auditions around here, there is actual sewing going on.  I also think I figured out a pattern for my mom’s quilt.  Maybe some stacking and maybe some whacking.

As part of my facebook icon, I recently added that I was in the Jacob Camp and I’ve had a lot of questions about what that means, but it is so lame and both Tim and I are so into them, its sort of embarassing.  I should just update my book list, but if you’ve read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer (or really book two, New Moon) and can seriously make a case for Edward, let me know.  I’m the captain of Team Jacob.

I Love Fabric

I love fabric, especially when it arrives in the mail and you aren’t sure whether or not you are going to like it.  I love this fabric and plan to make my mom a quilt, if I can just narrow down my pattern ideas for a large scale fabric pattern.  I’ll also have to do some more shopping for some tone on tone fabrics and some neutrals.  I am also working on a robot quilt for a baby boy due this summer!

Just waiting for Brad and Sarah to come down for a visit.  Think there is some fun downtown activities today!

Sunshine In

Praised be, the sun was brilliant all day today!  Not a rain cloud in the sky, which allowed us to get out into the garden this morning.  We have baby zucchini about ready to  burst and I can’t wait.  I also rode my bike to the market, picking up some of the best sugar snap peas I’ve ever tasted and some radishes.  I love the spicy crack of a good radish.

Next week at work is crazy, so maybe kicking back tonight with a movie.

Flood Floods

The horrible midwest floods haven’t really done much damage in Bloomington thankfully, but it WILL NOT STOP RAINING!  Ok, there was one day this week where it didn’t rain.  Now I have a few days off?  Rain.

I am debating a border/sashing on a baby quilt, and waiting for other fabric to arrive in the mail before I can progress on my mom’s Mother’s Day quilt (I know, late!).  Tim is getting close to being done with Summer I, and heads right into Summer II.  Books are being read, and oh, I joined Facebook.

Birthday Floods

We survived the flood and celebrated somebody’s birthday with a whole mess of Greek food.

Really Slow

Spring birthday packages are super slow this year.  I don’t even really have a good excuse, but this little guy should be in Texas by now.

I am also moving slowly since yesterday afternoon after being struck down by a mystery foot ailment.  Good thing the internet is there to self-diagnose, and in the end?  I just might get a new pair of sandals.  Thanks internet!

I am in the initial planning stages for a quilt for my mom, so I want that to be just right.  I made my very first quilt for her back in 2002 maybe?  In addition to that one, there are several baby quilts that will need to be done by the end of the year.  Also, books.  And yes, I probably need a break from all the food themed ones.
