White Pants
I know the Numa Numa video came out years ago, but have you ever seen the original video?
If you can watch this with out dancing, there is something wrong with you. What isn’t there to love about homoerotic white panted Moldovan boy bands dancing on airplane wings?
Yes, this is also how I spent my Friday night.

Thanksgiving in the City

I am recently returned from a nice and relaxing Thanksgiving at Ashely’s parent’s house in Elmhurst, IL. They plied me with drink, food, games, shopping and good times. Ashley, Mike and I rode the train in to the city on Friday and braved the crowds and cold for the Christkindlmarkt because nothing could keep us away from Helmut’s fresh strudel.
They made a full on Thanksgiving dinner, but driving up to Chicago happily reminds me of past Thanksgivings spent with AJ when he was living in the city. We would eat our Thanksgiving dinners in Mexican restaurants drinking margaritas. Or that one time at Patrick’s aunts house…wow. I am not sure how any of us survived that one. Good times.
Back at home, trying to catch up on reading and start thinking about Christmas ideas!

Wednesday Afternoon

Every Wednesday afternoon there is an anti-war rally on the Courthouse Square (Walnut side). Today there was also a band! And they were singing about health care! It was funny and sad all at the same time. People talk a lot here about that thing that makes Bloomington, well Bloomington. You know that intangible thing. Well, this is one of those things.
I think my fabric is ready to make my last draft snake in time for the cold front tonight. Our house has three front doors!

Bad Math

I sat down yesterday to start working on the borders of Thien’s quilt and realized that my math was way off! I thought I needed 128 2.5″ squares and 128 2.5″ 1/2 square triangles, when really I need 168. Off I set on cutting 40 more 2.5″ squares, 40 more triangles of dark green, and 40 more triangles of mixed greens and creams (not to mention sewing the 1/2 squares together, pressing and trimming).
I think I finally have it figured out and actually started sewing all these little pieces together to make two long borders for the sides. Any bets on whether or not I will have this done by Christmas?
Also – as of today I have a Thanksgiving date! I will be taken in as a mid-west orphan in Chicago at Ashley’s parent’s house. You know what that means? Phase 10!

IUIUReu07

Its ok, we used to go here! The undergrad group reconvened in Btown this past weekend and we had a blast. I got to go to my old house (actually go inside, as I know the new landlord), visit Briscoe, go to an IU football game, walk campus and generally reminisce. Oh, and there were also trips to the Trojan Horse, Upstairs, Kilroys, Yogis, the Vid and the Lion. I fell straight asleep approximately 24 minutes after the last guest left. That means you know you had a good time.
