Marquis Los Cabos

Posted under friends, travel Comments Off

Poor Tim. Two days after he hears some good news, I leave for Mexico. Less than a week after I get back from Colorado, I am again packing for a trip.

Ash is taking me to Cabo for a few days, all expenses paid. Well except lunch, but when you plan on eating breakfast at 11, and plan on starting drinking at 3…who has time for lunch? So I am off tomorrow for sun and fun and I can’t wait. Ash didn’t find out about it until last week, but really the one thing I have learned from this is to always have a current passport.

You never know when your phone might ring with a opportunity to jet off for a free trip to Cabo for the week…

Year of the Boar

Posted under family, travel Comments Off

Just back from Colorado…was able to successfully surprise my mom by showing up for her 60th birthday. We had a great weekend, lots of eating, drinking, art, reading, knitting, shopping, friends and fun. I can’t take all the credit, it was my dad’s idea, and AJ helped pull it off.

Very few pics of all of us together, but what I snapped is up at flickr.

OK Vday Baby Go

Know these are old, but because its valentine’s day, and because I irrationally love these videos:

Here It Goes Again

and

A Million Ways to Be Cruel

While we weren’t as synchronized, these remind me of Kitchen Dancing with Cyn. And one more…

AMWtbC on ice

The last one is for Abby, wherever she may be.

Two and a Half Days

Posted under friends, quilts Comments Off

Did you know you can quilt a queen sized quilt on a home machine in a day and a half. To do so however, you need an assistant (to help with the sticky adhesive spray), good music, 700 yards of thread, yoga pants and an anti-inflammatory or two.

That said, I am so excited to have all the quilting done! All I have left to do is the binding…hope I have enough fabric somewhere to finish. I love quilting, but I really love finishing. I can’t wait until Ashely is is in possession of her quilt. Hope she loves it as much as I do.

Going to see Babel tonight, should be a nice break!

8 Days

Posted under books, family Comments Off

I’ve got two days left of an 8 day stretch at work, so not too much free time (hence the random gratuitous picture). There has been painting, quilting and knitting, but not time to take pictures! Just looking forward to Tuesday.

Of course tomorrow after work is the Super Bowl and betcha can’t guess who we are cheering for? Ha! Supplies were purchased this evening…beer and nachos. Yes, we are so original.

I did update the book post as it was sorely out of date. I thought Cloud Atlas (clocking in at almost 700 pages) would slow me down, but I am currently on schedule for 52 books so far! It is just February though, but it would be fun to see if I can do it one year.
